We are a research team from the Department of Sport, Exercise, and Health of the University of Basel and the Institute of Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Prevention (EBPI) of the University of Zurich. Together, we conduct the INCLUDE study.
Starting in June 2026, we are offering:
- Part-time or full-time research internship, with or without a master’s thesis, or a Learning Contract (LC)
- Participation in an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary, internationally networked, practice-oriented research project
- Work with older participants with and without chronic lung diseases
- Insight into other disciplines
As part of your LC, internship, or master’s thesis, you will:
- Conduct study visits together with other team members
- During two walking circuits (one with little, the other with more air pollution) in the city of Zurich and/or Basel, you will measure: respiratory gas analysis, heart rate, blood pressure, air pollution, physical activity, GPS
- Support the research team with various other research tasks
- If interested: Participation in data analysis and research reports, independent data collection, collaboration on publications (manuscript writing, journal selection, reviewer feedback)
Your profile:
- Degree in sport, health sciences, environmental studies, or a related field
- Enjoy direct contact with study participants
- Good communication skills, meticulous, flexible, and independent work style with ample time and flexibility (e.g., to travel to Zurich and/or Basel)
- Minimum 6 months of availability
- Interest in working in an international, multidisciplinary team
